BRAIN — Brain Research in Arts, Indian Knowledge and Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary research group led by Dr. Deepti Navaratna at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru. The group brings together neuroscience, cognitive science, music, arts, education and Indian knowledge systems to investigate how cultural practices shape the brain, mind and human experience.The BRAIN seeks to forge new modes of inquiry into the brain—bringing neuroscience into conversation with arts, music, education, Indian knowledge systems and the humanities. By crossing disciplinary boundaries, it asks questions that no single field can fully answer, and develops new ways of investigating cognition, creativity, learning and human experience.
